The Institute for Workforce Innovation (IWI) was recently awarded an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and CPR training from the Gator CPR: Heart Safe City Foundation. The AED and training are valued over $1,500. The AED was installed at the Melrose Senior Community Center (MSCC) and will help cut down the response time for individuals in rural areas to receive critical care.
Jonathan Leslie, IWI executive director said,
IWI is thankful for this generous donation from the Gator CPR: Heart Safe City Foundation. This will increase the accessibility of AED equipment in the Melrose community and cut down response times for individuals in cardiac distress.
The IWI Melrose Senior Community Center hosts nutrition education and healthy living classes throughout the year. IWI is committed to enhancing the lives of seniors living in the lake area by promoting supports, services and resources that facilitate active living and aging in place.
