On Aug. 15, the Institute for Workforce Innovation’s Project YouthBuild hosted its class of 2013 graduation at the Thomas Center. We would like to congratulate our class of 2013 and thank all who attended the ceremony. The institute is a private nonprofit organization located in Gainesville with the mission to improve the quality of life in our community through education, employment and advocacy.
Project YouthBuild is an intensive seven-month program where students study for their GED, build and rehabilitate affordable housing, earn nationally recognized construction certifications, and develop leadership and employability skills. We would like to thank our community partners Alachua County Housing Authority, Boys and Girls Club, FloridaWorks and Santa Fe College for their support.
We wish each of our students great success in their future endeavors and look forward to beginning a new Project YouthBuild class in September.
